My first impression of this painting was great. So much detail it looks like a photograph. The fabric especially is spot on. Only points to improve would be the size of the draped hand ( a little big) and the right cheek/jowl. This may be accurate recording of person but looks out of proportion. Amazing white and great entry for the contest.

Great image with a balanced composition and contrast colors. The white garment is fantastic with fine details, colors and tones. It contrasts wit warm body.

This is a really stunning portrait! The lovely folds of her sari is realistic and well textured and lit. Her pose is elegant and the whole composition is spot on. This is a really nice piece ... I hope you do well in the contest!

A realistic creation with fine strokes and smooth textures.
Great symmetry and proportional facial features.
Gorgeous illumination casting soft highlights and faint shadows.
Darkened background pops out the subject aesthetically.
Impressive shari color but I guess its better to render it whiter just for the contest theme.

Best of luck in the contest!
Thanks for sharing...

You did an outstanding job of creating the folds in the white sari. Your highlights and shadows give it the look of soft silk. Her skin tones are soft and glowing. This is the best entry I have seen for this contest.

She is not a Barbie-beauty. She is more. Her pose and expression are serene and lend her a beauty which comes from her personality. She seems used to hard work as her hands witness. Her face and seems uneven at the right and the little finger of her left hand seems damaged, which might be an accident at work. Her pose down-cast eyes and her garment's suggests that she is in meditation. The white and gray shades of her sari are exquisite and fall naturally even as it is clear the sari is composed and fastened to her body. The painting is as excellently balanced as the woman.
I appreciate the interesting comments also.

Very impressive to view this work of art, amazing details throughout , very well applied, wonderful artists notes offer good information as well. This is a beautiful Shari Woman in her native dress, the white garment is beautiful and almost shimmers, very well applied light and shaded areas in perfect choice of tones.i like her pose , seated with her knees bent , she has bare feet , I like the bracelets in gold on both of her wrists. The black background is perfect to keep the viewers eye and attention. Very well presented, best to you in the contest!
