It is a truly beautiful sunset, but it is the arches doing this photo more than anything, and also how well the setting sun is places between the columns on the right. The bird in flight also adds a lot to this scene.

The silhouetted arches and people are standing out really sharp and well defined against the sky and the sea, and the exposure is perfect. Great colors as well.

The photo is nicely cropped and the arches have got a perfect placement within the frame. Indeed a beautiful and well taken photo Steve, and with an excellent DOF.

I thought it was taken in Greek or Italy before I read your comments The arches look antique. The silhouettes are exquisitely emphasized by the sunset colors. Your angle and perspective are outstanding. The photo has great depth. The arch is a beautiful framing for the sun.

Each day is God's masterpiece.
Every sunset, His signature!
Fantabulous sold silhouette!
Crisp & clear outlines.
Ideal off centered framing.
Perfectly leveled horizon.
Inclusion of that lone pelican accentuated this scene nicely.
A potential entry to the Sunset Photo Contest!
Dynamic diagonal diminishing perspective.

Good perspective & long depth of field...Thanks for sharing...

Thank you so much Dick for your very artistic and detailed review. You are so right about God's Masterpieces. HE creates them and all I have to do is push the button. I am so blessed to be able to make an attempt to capture at least a shadow of HIS Artwork.

What a perfectly timed photo. You are a perfectionist and it definitely shows in all your images.
You never seize to amaze me.
Perfect setting sun captured among the majestic arches just as the pelican approaches the amazing silhouetted columns. What a magical glorious setting for an evening of enjoyable music and fun.
I will never get tired of seeing you amazing photos through your wonderful eyes. Keep them coming.
Love love love this image.
Beautifully mastered!

I had to smile Monica when I read your review. You said I am a perfectionist. I have never considered myself as such yet now that you mention it I am constantly talking to myself as a scene develops like this one and I keep moving to just the right place to attempt to capture some of the beauty that God is presenting before me. I don't know how it works Monica. I just get into this zone and become one with the scene somehow and when I come back to my senses there are often some very nice photos that I really do not remember taking. LOL Didn't intend to ramble on. Thank you so much Monica for your wonderfully artistic and poetic review. I am honored ~ Steve

Steve you are an amazing soul! God blesses you to share the splendor and love that HE provides to us but many are too busy or ignorant to enjoy it.
Thank God we have you to keep us aware of HIS beauty.

Absolutely beautiful capture! I've stood in that very spot watching the sunset - but never captured such a lovely scene! The pelican is perfectly caught mid-flight and the figures in the foreground are nicely backlit and distinct from the shadows and columns. The orange and golden light perfect peace. A wonderful work!

A gorgeous and dramatic sunset with the columns of the amphitheater. I like the silhouettes of the people and the way the sun is going down in the horizon. The bird adds interest to your already gorgeous scene. Outstanding photography ad thanks for sharing!

I love how people gather in these tourist places to watch the sunset. You have captured it at just the right time before it vanishes. Love the silhouetted structure and the bird that is flying into the photo. Excellent shot.

You composed this picture so well with the sun setting in the first arch and the other arches receding towards the left side of the photo! The sunset is beautiful. The pelican is a nice touch.
