Night photography takes special talent. The adjustments mad top the photo brought out the various features of the moon's surface. It was carefully taken and then adjusted for the maximum effect. The photo accomplished exactly what the artist wanted. Well done.

Wow! You can even see the craters toward the dark side. I really like the blended yellows...it gives the appearance of being painted with pastels.

It's fun to photograph the moon! This shows pretty good detail and is nicely placed in the frame, your focus is good and the image is clear, it's a 3/4 moon, it's well presented against the night sky!

    Pat,
Thanks a million for your great review on the 3/4 Moon taken on Wednesday evening glowing in the sky.
I know it's not perfect but shows as much detail as my 20 x zoom can capture...usually all I can capture is a glowing disc.

Taking a good stand alone image of the moon requires an excellent long lens or telescope, perfect focusing and exposure.
This image lacks sharpness is pixelated due to a too zelous crop and most of the detail is burnt out by over exposure.
What did the other exposures look like? Also, it is easier to get a good image when the moon is in a crescent phase when more of the subject has shadows to show details.

What an incredible photo of the moon! The detail is great and the color and tonal areas are beautiful. Reading your notes I'm amazed at the work and effects, not sure I understand them but this is clear and looks like it is a very well zoomed in shot.
Beautiful work.

    Marsha,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on the 3/4 Moon (my mistake to say 1/2) My compact camera with the 20x zoom brought it in quiet well, the Sperize in Corel magnified the image without having to crop it in severly. Thanks so much for your support.

Was the Armstrong-Collins-Aldrin landing really a hoax?!?

So, there's no man in the moon! ;-))
Impressive capture!
An interesting initial impact.
Smooth features and some rough textures...
Controlled illumination.
No over blown spots.
Good perspective & long depth of field...

Thanks for sharing...
