The style of your work consistently hearkens me back to my days by the lake.
Especially the first dip of the year. Getting past the bone numbing temperature of the water was done in a ritualistic fashion and always with a friend or two.
I am glad that you didn't show the horizon. This presentation shows how immense and intimidating a local body of water can seem.
I see rich colors applied in layers that give the impression of dappled sun light being reflected at different points.
Seen only from the back the body language of the children is readable and can be interpreted in many different ways - Isn't that what a good piece of impressionistic art is supposed to do?
This creation is worth a 6, sorry to say I am fresh out.
I think you have a created a real contender for this contest ... B-)) Bob

This takes me back to days at the beach on vacation with my sisters! I can feel the sand moving out from under my feet as I stand waiting for the next wave to wash up around my knees. Such pleasant feelings of warmth and happiness. The little girls are great with the breeze moving their tops . The water has just a nice size breaking wave to keep the girls on their feet...

A lovely painting! The light is good. The colours are natural. Overall it has been composed well with interesting foreground with the kids enjoying themselves and the waves in the background all adding to the interest of the main subject .Good luck!

Nicely done on this contest entry.
I feel like I am watching a scene unfold but cannot quite make out what the girls are saying.
It's like a quick view into a secret world wherr children's fantasies come to life.
Quite nice and would be great as an illustration for a children's book.
