Birds wings in flight

Where I moved from this bird is so very common it doesn't draw much attention.

This piece is absolutely stunning! I cannot recall a single shot posed like this especially of the Female.

Isn't it a rush when you capture your vision just as you mentally predicted???

The lack of a face takes nothing away from this take because there is some much more to see.

In the lower third of the frame I see the birds shadow on the water. Better yet, and this just blew me away - not only do I see a clear reflection of the feather tips of the wing but clearly seen in reverse!

Oh my, I almost forgot to mention the 2 concentric circles under and behind the wing. I will venture out on a limb - if these are from the tips of the wing feathers touching the water on the down beat then you know how far the bird traveled between wing beats - cool.

Camera settings are well established and have produced a high resolution image of good contrast, color and tonal range.

This ones a gem ... B-)) Bob

no need to see the eyes; maybe the bird was very shy; lol;
a wonderful capture Grace of this bird with stretched wings flying so close to the water, with outstanding sharp details.

Beautiful shot! I like seeing birds in flight, with their feathers spread out. The rust spots are nice as well as it seems she is looking for lunch.

I fell in love with the refreshing scene. I like the lush green lotus, and the contrasting shiny brown wings. The clarity of details of lines and textures is superb, I can even see a portion of the wings reflection. This feeds my soul.

This shot encompasses a beautiful stop action capture with an incredible wingspan that is truly a pleasure to see. What I find amazing is your captured it in flight so close to the water, an inch lower and the bird would be dipping its wing. Beautiful rust color in the shoulder feathers and lovely lily pads as the background. Truly a unique photo that I'm sure wasn't easy to get with all its incredible detail. Just lovely.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
This is a difficult shot to capture of a Red Wing.. male or female.
They fly so fast and skim across the water in a blink of an eye.
I love the RARE CAPTURE of this Lady Red Wing with wings stretched out in flight with the one on left so close to the water.
I also like the clarity and the tiny wing reflection we can see.
Camera settings prove you did not shoot in apeture like most do to compensate for light.
Excellent bird Photography GG!!

It takes manual settings to get a shot like this. Your shutter speed was perfect!!
More than half here still shoot wildlife in Aperture using auto settings. It's why they have to MMTBOOI BIG TIME!!
