Very good art contest entry for the forest contest. I like the deer looking over his shoulder as to say goodbye. He seems like he really is hesitant about going. The red goes so well against the opposing green and brown tones. Nice work and good luck in the contest.

So very cool. The body form and language of this deer is excellent. The depth is excellent. The details is awesome. The shading is excellent. The blend of color is excellent. The creation is well balance and very eye appealing to the viewer. Creative and awesome work overall (clapping)

Wonderful
Pastel work! I love the details in the leaves and your choice of colors too. The sunlight background adds a feeling of hope and renewal to this piece. The moss on the rocks adds so much definition. Great work!

This is a lovely forest scene! I like how the stag's head is turned toward the viewer. The path leads the eye out of the forest and into the meadow where the stag is headed. Very well done!

The way you positioned the deer is very attractive. I really like how he is looking back and the fine details that you created in his face and body are wonderful. The colors of your landscape are nice. I especially like the color blending of the rocks. You created lots of depth with the angle of the hill into the background.

very delicate piece. As a child I lived in Orphanages in Bavaria, and the forests there are thick, heavy and green, so this is a different concept for me, however America has many regions and I think one can expect just about anything there.T his has more of a chinese feel for me, when working outside Beijing, I used to bus back to the college, and we would pass red bushes, with lots of thin branches etc

Linda I love the concept for this drawing. It has a wonderful feel to it. My only real concern with the piece is the lack of a sense of scale between the deer and the rest of the scene. I think the basic composition works well and the colors are good. The textures and details all work nicely. Well seen.

Linda, I do love your style of painting.....

It has a wonderful feel of fun and caring.

Your little dear seems to be saying good bye and your overall piece is a pleasure to view.

I see your intentions. It is a fine idea you had, but I think you the digitalisation [photo or scan] of your painting got too much light. The sunlit valley is barely visible. There is white where yellow or golden sunlight should be and all detail is washed out. You maybe try to produce a darker digital version. Have also a look at the deer his front legs are not visible and it looks as if its tail is hanging down almost to the ground. I guess this is a white tail deer with a short tail or isn't it?

this is a great work of art that tells a story, like the colors you used to create trees and rocks and the deer, with a trail leading him out of the woods, a pleasure to look at, thank you for sharing, dale
