I can't believe I had to go back so far to find this one....I have been absent on here longer than I thought.

I love this capture. The detail in the midst of the blend of reds and oranges and yellows is perfection! That bit of green in the center proves that these flowers are lively and strong. Just the same as your memories of Padre. What a wonderful memory you keep about him in your gardens.

Your two open flowers plus the one unopened one between and below them balances out this composition quite artistically. Your rich greens in your dof with just enough contrasting texture in the upper right corner adds just what is needed to prove this is an 'in the garden' photo. Nothing has been picked and posed =perfection. Sorry it took me so long to get to this one! LOVE IT!

Thank you over and over for your artist notes and for sharing 'your place' with us here on FAR. A pleasure...as always.

awww...you are a sweetheart for going back and finding this one Becky. ....and then giving it such a wonderful review. Particularly thank you for your comments re: Padre and the 'no pose' bit. My flowers would laugh at me if I tried to pose them. So thank you greatly my dear friend for all of it (including the shiny gold star, of course...lol) You have made a wet, dreary and rather dark day definitely more pleasant.

Another great flower portrait to be sure, and an excellent way to honor your father each year by planting themI love the orange color with their darker centers, the color radiating out thru the veining.Excellent dof, image nice and sharp and framed nicely in your photo, really popping against the green foliage in the background.Don't think I have ever seen that color before and it was extremely enjoying to view! :) LeeAnn

Beautiful flowers and wonderful story. I must admit I go through the same mental argumant, but am moving more to container gardening and annuals are great for that. These have a gorgeous color and shading. Ad delight to look at. Sharp focus and nice composition. Well done.

Nothing beats annuals for container gardening Charles. I am very fortunate to be able to spread out like a crazy flower woman when it comes to my gardens lol But if I ever was forced to do containers, annuals would be the way I'd go. Do appreciate the really lovely review here. Thank you so much.
