I think I agree with Padre, but they are expensive to buy in Norway, so I try to fill my beds with perennials, The two Petunia flowers are truly lovely though, and you just have to fall in love with colors like this. These two are for sure trying to brighten the day.
Your photo of them is very sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the flowers. The colors are crisp and clear, and the exposure is perfect.
I like very much the tight cropping and also the placement of the two flowers within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo Deborah, and with an excellent DOF.

Hello there AV!! How good to see you here....had been thinking you must be as busy in your gardens as I've been...so I truly appreciate the time you've taken to give my piece such a lovely, well written and thorough review. Thank you so very much.

You are right. I have been busy in the garden. The weather has been fantastic for more than a month, but now it is more back to normal. Which means raining and reviewing. You are more than welcome for the review Deborah.
-
'raining and reviewing' did lol at that AV! Raining at your place is a good thing for the rest of us.
-
I suppose it is. LOL

Wonderful initial impression: these are such a gorgeous color petunia! I have never seen this pumpkin tone before! This is very well photographed with spot on focus, the image is clear to view, well controlled exposure, the colors and tones appear natural, beautiful detail and texture in the petals, beautiful center detail, I love the way the pumpkin tone goes into a vibrant orange surrounding the center. I love the composition with the two blossoms in view against their supporting greenery! This is a wonderful way to honor your father, I'm certain he would be extremely proud! Well presented!

Comment from Paul G.
I do the same thing. I have perennials that I fill in the holes with annuals. And, petunias are some of my favorites, too. I love the broad petals and variety of colors.
Fantastic story. I love the color of these. Focus is excellent. DOF is very well played. Love it.

Deborah,
A beautiful picture of Padre's favorite orange Pertunias with red veins in the orange petals giving them a look of stained glass, their deep glowing throats compelling us to look down into their hearts. Artistic composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

What a beautiful and unique color of petunia. This photograph is so colorful and eyecatching it is just striking!
The veining in the flowers is superb and the green background is perfect for making them resemble pumpkins. I especially LOVE the one unopened flower. Its form and shape are just so true and beautiful. Cropped very close but I sort of like how the flower fills the frame.
Beautiful and skilled presentation. Outstanding Deborah, a real beauty!

What a treat this morning Marsha to find this really wonderful review from you. Now I am having trouble replying- it is storming like the end of days here- so if my reply comes through twice I'm sorry. Just had the entire first one I wrote deleted....lol Do agree I may have cropped even a tad closer than usual.....I was trying to make sure that lovely red throat (the veining you mentioned) was visible. At any rate- I do appreciate this very much FP....thank you for the most generous review and rating.

That is a beautiful remembrance and dedication. I am sure your father would be proud of you if he could see this photo and the flower bed in his garden. The flowers have an unusual color which indeed remind of pumpkins. The green background and the tight framing emphasizes the flowers nicely.

awww....thank you for the kind words Cleo. I actually dug up all of his AZALEAS and moved them to MY gardens as the guy who purchased their property was not interested in keeping Padre's gardens.....so his beautiful flowers now live at my place and I'm sure he is happy about that. Thank you so much for the wonderful review. I do really appreciate it.
