This is a stunning shot of the White Egret. Good camera skills and nice stop action. Your timing is perfect on this one....so gorgeous are the out spread wings with the feet just leaving the water. An incredible shot....outstanding work and thanks for sharing!

Simply grand! I've seen a blue heron in the same pose, but the WHITE feathers are so much more dramatic. Perfect focus, good background, and of course the water spray under the feet is just the best.

Angelic is the right title for this photo, because the way the bird is showing off its wings, for sure reminds me of angel wings. The grey/blue colored background is perfect for the white bird to stand out in an excellent way, and I also think you have captured the trail of water from the feet really well.
Your photo is sharp showing such clear and well defined details in the open wings, and the exposure is perfect.
The photo is nicely cropped and I think the bird has got a good placement within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo Grace, and with an excellent DOF.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Great Egrets and Snowy Egrets do indeed have Angelic appearances when they have their wings like this. While you enjoyed the silky soft wings, I ENJOY the Perfect white balance control and superb
Shutter speed of 1/2500 to get the stop action and the feet drag on the water.
I see these birds every single day and each day it's like I saw my first one.
Your camera techs are spot on here showing off the beauty and grace of God this bird.
It's a pleasure to see your growth behind your lens Greenie.
You are one smart talented cookie!
It's good to view your work...I enjoy all things Eicarg!!
;) Yep!

Grace , it's a six , straight up a six !
The Engret ... She's a beautiful bird .
Congratulations on such an amazing shot .
Was it loud when she took off and was she in shallow water ?
I'm guessing her legs propelled her vertical .
It's a beautiful piece
Thank you for shooting .

Thank you very much!! I am glad you like this one. The take off was propelled by those long legs! Practically straight upwards. It was a nice sight. Thanks for the extra star too :)

An angelic image indeed!
Excellent choice of subject with monochromatic plumage against an ash gray backdrop.
Well timed still motion shot with dynamic trail of water drops as she took off!
This would have been a potential entry to the take off contest...
Thanks for sharing...

I didn't see the contest! I'm so bad about checking out the contests. I usually see one I'm interested in after the deadline! Oh well. Thank you for your nice comments :)

'Angelic' is an apt comment, for I would have said the same.
Beautiful stop action photography on display here.
The color palette is near monotone, and the contrast is short scale as it should be for a near mono take.
The contrast level promotes and enhances the image of the bird.
Thanks for leaving the splashes in the scene. They lend a more realistic atmosphere to this marvelous take.
Super initial visual impact with this capture.
Camera settings are well established and have produced a high resolution image of good contrast, color and tonal range.
Very well done ... B-)) Bob
