You have the commotion and splashing water well captured, and the fish in the beak. I think fishing is hard work for the Loon. The scene is well focused. The features of the bird are nicely visible even in all that splashing and commotion. The photo has also nice realistic colors and is well balanced and framed.

Thank you very much Cleo! Yes I think they have a few struggles. Their legs are so far back that they cannot take flight from land and they need a great distance to get a running start in the water.

Wow. What a Great capture of the action of this Loon doing what it does best. Fabulous stop action as the churning water adds more drama to an already dramatic scene. Really well done Grace. I am always so impressed with your photographic talent ~ Steve

Thank you Sange! This year is the first time I have seen them in person myself. As bad as I feel for the fish, it is fun to watch the loons in action.

Awesome shot of a great moment! The Common Loon with lunch in its beak. You capture the detail in your subject and the feeling of motion in stopping the wings and the water splash.

A very nice shot that shows the furious action of the loon extremely well. The image is sharp as could be and the colors are fantastic. I rarely get to see them as I am too far south in Michigan.

wow Grace! look at that loon go!!

A tad dark on my screen, but I'm thinking it is my screen at work here. Will look at it again when I get home later.

Love your stop action and that prize of the fish!!
