The flat color and tone of this piece presents to my eyes a strong 'Currier & Ives' texture and mood.
If this was intentional through camera technique - then Kudos, if it was through happenstance then - Kudos again for recognizing the opportunity in front of your lens.
The river being the main object of this piece also provides an excellent divider between mountains and low land forest.
I see a very deep DOF with high detail from front to back.
This piece needs nothing more to mark it as another fine example of the 49th States grand landscape ... B-)) Bob

This is a beautiful scene to see especially since the temperature has been so hot and humid here. So refreshing it makes me hope for cooler days...lol. This landscape is beautiful and seeing the snow covered landscape is just what I needed. I love the pastel sky and the river flowing through.
This would make an outstanding painting with all its wonderful detail. Love it.

A wonderful picture of the Placer river in Portage flowing between it's still snow covered banks & snow capped mountain behind the leafless Larch & Aspen lining the bank with the setting sun staring to colour the sky with gold that is reflected on the river's surface. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
