What an adorable pup.
I like how you handled the shadow in the background... lends a good depth to this.
Great facial expression and a nice way to paint. Love your technique!

Bosco is adorable! I like the colors you used for his body and how well they indicate shadow and light. The stones tile and the background are also attractive. Too cute!

Hi Linda your little Bosco really stole my heart.. I love this rendition of your Pug dog sitting on the patio.. You have captured his personality beautifully . The brushstrokes define his facial features nicely. The shading on his forehead and ears helps accentuate those big bold black eyes and the markings around them. great use of white reflective strokes to bring out the lifelike appearance in his eyes.. Love the tilted head position.. and way his mouth and surrounding facial features seem to fold well around that open mouth expression. delightfully rendered, giving him real character and adding to his charm. His nose is well defined and good colour choice.. His little body is neatly painted and I like the use of shading used to define his limbs and neck and chest area. His paws are neatly defined upon the patio tiles.. The colours used in the tiles are soft and compliment his skin tones well. Loving the shadow of his body behind him. a nice touch to offer depth of field to your scene. the background is soft and adds to his gentle appearance.. nicely blended tones giving further depth to your picture.. There is a peaceful harmony emanating from the picture in my mind's eye.. and a loving endearing feeling touches my soul.. thanks for sharing your Bosco, Linda.. He has been an absolute joy and pleasure to review. best wishes in the contest. cheers mel

Cute dog. Excellent representation of the pug with good detail for water color. The dog is in good proportions, and correct coloration. I like the black mask, it adds character. Well done.

What a great watercolor of this dog with wonderful color and a beautiful shadow. The tilted head just makes this art come alive.
It really adds a warm touch that makes you want to reach out and hug this little one. Great entry and best of luck in the contest.

Lovely expression in the eyes; the subject and background go together well with subtle colors and plenty of space around. Toenails look very realistic. Good luck in the contest! Daphne Oberon

A very nice image that should do well in this contest. At first I thought the background might be a sky but the way it catches that shadow convinces me that it is a wall. Fine rendering of the facial detail and great colors. Good luck in the voting.

I simply love pugs. I've had two. This is so cute. I like the colors, how you separate the floor from the wall and the shadow adds contrast. Great job.
