Well now i'm In a quandary great piece of art even without the notes but with the notes can really see how you are feeling. On the other hand feeling really bad for you.

I have also struggled with depression and understand the slog - wanting to just fall back under the covers or hide in a corner. It;s ok to feel this way. It's fine not to be ok. I lost my dad in difficult circumstances a couple of years ago. I am only just beginning to grieve and started doing the art to try to. He was the artist. I hope art helps you but don't say "i'm Ok" if you are not. Let yourself be sad, depressed and upset and please do talk about it with me, friends, family - anyone you bump into. Throw yourself into another great piece of art. I found setting myself a goal has really helped. It is to photograph 100 different types of wild birds or mammals from the uk and walk 10,000 steps each day doing it. It has helped immensely- I hope you find something to help too. Take care.

I certainly get the sense of depression from this and clearly understand since I an overcoming clinical depression. I really get that sense through your color use the posture and her drinking wine . I know that it is an unseen illness that some people find hard to understand especially if you are a successful it can be confusing to the individual suffering from the ailment and I guess that is why the figure is barely discernible. Good work

Message received, good impression of depression, the transparency is a washed out fade away symbolism. Blue can be a sad colour. The painting has balance and you have caught an understanding expression on the lady's face. If you can do work like this then you have a door opening to look for light engaging subjects that may lift your spirit. Well done for this.

I really like this picture it shows reallity, how she feels with sadness. You really showed your feeling through your painting and that's what makes it unique. I like the way you painted the hair. Nice picture Good luck!

it is decent work. i dont understand why make the contrast so light the viewer has to strain to examine it. the facial expression is good. the body form and language is good. the details is good. the shading is good. the depth is good. the creation is balanced but just light to appreciate. im sure this is a easy fix..wink. creative and good job overall.

i agree. people tend to act kind of aloof when you tell them you're not feeling well sometimes or that something bad happened. i am so sorry for the loss of your friend. the transparency makes this a little brighter but it has a nice effect

Very intriguing entry for the contest - good luck. Love the idea of the transparency - adds an extra special twist to the shot. Yeah - depression, know what you are talking about. I'm dealing with a sick loved one and I am her caregiver so I know what you mean. I hope you recover soon. Your artwork has given true expression to the feeling. May I see additional work from you when you are in better spirits.

Depression is misunderstood and if you are familiar with it can be devastating. You do feel invisible and unable to express your feelings or lack thereof. She has "the blues" with the red contrast of the wine and nipple. I can feel her pain.
