This is great, it could be sold as a dinner place in a department store; the details and coloring are perfect; love the story. Keep up the good work.

The first thing I notice here is the circle within the square presentation, the aqua outer frame with the vivid red filling in the square really allows this emperor dancing on the stars to stand out, it's the red inner lining of his drape that catches my eye, I like the color palet used here, the pale yellow, red and the blue/ green tones work very well in this repeating pattern that circles the emperor. This is well created and a pleasure to view!

Thanks! Your lovely review deserves more from me but my apologies about how busy I am! Yes, I mostly learned about this culture by reading the National Geographic book, The Mighty Aztecs. He supposedly flew away on a raft of snakes! His time as the mythic emperor was described as a time of plenty with cotton growing in different colors etc... Daphne Oberon

A great entry for the contest Daphne. The Toltec civilization was so very ahead of its time. So many symbolic works of art and statues. Nice work on this one as it has all the elements one would expect in a Toltec Mandala. Great work and best of the best in the contest ~ Steve
