I'm putting on my trunks right now - I could be one of them old geezers ;-). Nice entry for the contest - good luck. Colors are very harmonious and the scene comes together very well. Thanks for sharing.

This picture is beautiful. I like the skyline with the sunset. This is a painting I would do. Everything stands out so perfectly from the sunset the ocean and the couple

Beautiful paint as you have surely shown what you intended to. I love seeing the beauty of love between the elderly that has endured the test of time. This art reminds me of that special feeling and although I am not there
I can fully appreciate it being very special. A real pleasure to view, excellent work and best of luck in the contest.

Thank you so very much! One reviewer felt I made a mistake to have them leaning.

You're welcome, I think its just preference.

Very good piece. You're very good at shading, and your horizon line is perfectly level. Cute subject, the 2 old people are slightly leaning to their right, and so when I look at this I feel like I'm leaning too.

Thank you. As my notes said, I had the old folks leaning as that is what they do.

Can't make out if they are really old or not!:) Nonetheless, this pastel painting is very well rendered. Lovely smooth lines.Details of the figures, sky and the sea are well brought out!The shading is just fine. Overall a very good effort.Good luck!

This has a gorgeous intermingling of very compatible orange and blue in the water, and the figures tie together the sky and earth. I not only love the subject and intent of the piece but the style -- especially the subtle, realistic turbulence in the water. (I livid in and by the sea in Baja for many years in the 1960's and early 70's; I know realistic water when I see it!) Daphne Oberon

Thank you so very much, Daphne. It has been a while since I did a piece in pastels and I appreciate your encouragement. I used wet pastel washes first to create my underpainting.

I love this! Very creative and it's an awesome idea, this old couple have come to the beach, to enjoy the beautiful sunset! I love that her swimsuit matches his swim trunks !this is very well created with beautiful sky and water detail, lovely sunset colortones, they hold hands to support each other, they are enjoying their lives and their time at the beach! Well presented! Best to you in the contest!
