Oh that is funny! It took me a moment to figure out what is going on there! I think it is a great shot, just wish it were a bit clearer/more distinct. I guess for turtles they are scrambling around pretty fast! Daphne Oberon

Thanks Daphne. Actually they were sitting as still as a statue.

This is an interesting and fun image.
A definite one and only.
Nice contest contender for the black and white contest.
Nice texture. Perfectly framed.
Well done.

very cute. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of all the turtles is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Pity the focus is so soft, it is hard to understand what the subject on the right is

also, the light on the center of the photo is too bright and distracting

thanks for sharing

:):) This is an interesting shot of the sunbathing turtles! You have timed it well. The light and shadows and the B&W composition have worked out well. Good luck!

I am so envious that you got to see these stunning turtles! Most of the turtles I see dive into the water at the sight of me or my camera. I assume this was originally shot in color. I am curious why you converted it to black and white. Your image has very little range of tones; the shells are pretty much the same shade of grey. Not your fault! Powerful black and white photos generally have a range of tones, from solid black to grays to bright white. In any event, you have a good memory of seeing something quite unusual in nature.

Thanks for the review and critique. Was in color, but the contest was for a B&W shot or something converted to B&W. Thought this would work good.

Cool,Chuck!
Your picture of this family of sliders enjoying the sun on their 'float' looks Great,my friend!
The B & W coloration theme gives it a nice 'antique-y' look and the overhead viewing angle adds an extra shot of interest!
'Good Show'! : )

Great photo with a great title! I like how the little turtle found a place to sunbath even though the log is very small. Excellent sharpness and detail. Very nice black and white conversion. Best of luck in the contest!

Cool capture and different in black and white. I personally would of loved to see the difference in the colors of the three turtles against the color of the water but then I rarely shoot in B/W. I love color to much. Anyway, great photo!

That be cool! I love turtles! Have two of my own as pets. They are such colorful creatures! This is still a cool photo and well done in Black and white.

I just looked at it. I like the color one better but that's just me. I think if it were tweaked a bit with enhancing tone and color it's be pretty sharp. But please, don't change your BW photo because of my opinion. I think it's a nice rendition. I just have a like towards color more. Just me.

Like the color one two, but remember this was a B&W contest.

A very nice shot from directly overhead. It must have been shot from a bridge or an elevated walkway. Nicely composed with fine details. Best of luck in the contest.

Thanks Mike. Walkway along the lake. Was not that high up. The log was very close.
