Thank you for your comments and your five star vote. I appreciate both. This one won first place in the sunrise and sunset contest on fanartreview.com contest. This is my interpretation of some of the bluff areas in New Mexico, USA. One half of the entire population of two million in the country's fourth largest state lives in Albuquerque. It is a wild, open and free feeling land that will without reservation kill you if you are not prepared or make a stupid mistake. I loved living there.

First of all: Congratulations on winning the sunrise/ sunset contest, I am not at all surprised, this is absolutely incredible! I can see the time and thought that was applied here, it's a magical scene, the sun has just dipped below the rocky formation , I can see the last bit of light right above the sun, the sky is a beautiful orange meeting the clouds and the deep blue sky at the top, the deep blue plays so well with the orange and yellow tones, the formations are amazing! The texture and dimension, and detail is so realistic! I love the way the water flows in on the right and you show the flowing motion so very well, the water in the basin shows the motion from the flow too, beautiful greenery with wildflowers growing at the base of the formation bring life and add another texture to this beautiful scene. I would absolutely love to find a scene exactly like this and have my camera with me! You say this is from your imagination yet it's so realistic to view! I am so pleased that this was the contest winner ! This is certainly worthy of a six star rating , I'm sorry I don't have one to award. It's a complete pleasure to sit here with my morning coffee and review!

I like the vivid colors and the textures of the painting which are making the landscape interesting. The rock formations are especially impressive on the background of the sunset sky. It is exiting how the water is rushing through the canyon and splashes together from two sides in front of the mountain.;
