I will take your word for the identification of your nice looking insect! Your almost macro style of composition here is very appropriate and offers us very enjoyable views of both insect and leaf. Sharpness and exposure are very good. Well done!

Wow, the detail in this photograph is just amazing.
In the leaf as well as the dragonfly. This would've been a fantastic entry in the contest. Outstanding clarity and impeccable details.
Really a pleasure to see.

A fantastic macro shot capturing this unusual and fascinating Damselfly in great detail, showing sharp clarity and clear definition of its features. The green eyes are fantastic and had you not mentioned it I may have thought it was just a water droplet! The physical form and webbed wings are clear and the potentially dull coloured creature stands out wonderfully against the green backdrop, both with the short DOF creating a blur beyond and the detailed edge and surface of the plant accentuating this piece nicely. Great work, well done :)

This is a wonderful shot of a greeneyed damselfly! You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Green on green!

Impressive capture!
An interesting initial impact.
Sharply focused. Fine features & textures.
I like the pointillist effect on the verdant foliage.

Dynamic diagonal positioning.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks for sharing...

Wow. When I first saw this it reminded me of the Robber Fly photo I took. This is all of that and more. Fantastic clarity and focus. That green eye and the leaf add so much drama to this image. I had to wail until after midnight here so that I could use my first six. Definitely worth the wait. Just a wonderful photo Grace, one of your best. Kudos ~ Steve

Thank you very much Steve for the six stars and your nice comments! It was super nice of you to wait until you had a six. I do have to disagree with your comparison though - because your Robber Fly takes the cake :)

OK. We will agree to disagree ; )

Most of the blue ones I see around are a much more intense shade of blue. They come in a wide variety of colors. This one is well composed to keep the entire insect in such sharp focus.

Fantastic photo! I like different shades of green. This dragonfly looks lonely. It's eye is emerald geen, like a stone on a ring. You can see small details on the wings. I wish I had 6* left for you. Great job!!!
