Thank you so much for the great review! I debated about how much to crop this photo. I finally decided to leave a lot of the background in because I like the colors, but I understand what you mean about the background distracting from the subject.

This Monarch has a glorious crown of flowers! A stunning capture, with colours that complement the beauty of the subject, and are nicely soft focused so there isn't a jostling for attention. Nicely positioned - superb work.

This is indeed a beautiful butterfly on the red flower, it's a colorful image that allows a sense of the location. Beautiful position of the butterfly with wings opened allowing a clear view of its colors and details. This is well focused, the image is clear, well controlled exposure , colors and tones appear natural. Well presented!

Wow. What a great scene here Barbara. That Monarch pops out so well with the first look. The colors are nicely saturated and the focus is nice and sharp. One thought: The leaves in the lower left are very bright and distract the eye from that beautiful Monarch. By cropping up a bit, maybe to where the stem is on the bottom of the frame and then cropping in from the left just a bit to eliminate the empty space, the butterfly will command the attention of the eye. Darkening and saturating the remaining leaves will really make this one 'Pop'. Just a thought. Great scene Barbara ~ Steve
