You get to see the most beautiful creatures! It is fascinating how animals adapt to their environments. This is a great view of these beauties and their markings stand out nicely. I like how you can see the dust from their surroundings coated on the white parts of their bodies.

Another interesting shot of the wild like in Namibia. They look stronger and slightly different from the usual Zebras I have seen (in zoos:) This is a wonderful shot of nature. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

In the lowlands they seem to gather in herds while here in the high desert they appear to be more solitary. A fine image that shows the terrain as well as the animals.

How are they different from the plains zebras? I like this broad shot that shows the environment as well (but I would also like to see a close-up shot for more details. Good color and focus. Well seen.

Either they are pregnant or well fed lol. I've worked with Zebra's before and love their personalities. It's a nice capture. Wish they were closer together but you work with what nature gives you. lol

    thanks a lot; these mountain zébras are very shy: minutes later they started to run;
    the one on the right seems pregnant indeed

A great picture of this pair of beautiful mountain Zebras in their natural habitat, captured brilliantly in the landscape framing as they stand at a good distance from one another on the rich brown rocks, looking as interested at you as no doubt you were at them!! Crisp clarity and long DOF captures the surroundings and the perspective superbly, with the grassy, rocky slope behind giving good contrast and proportion. Lovely composition and great timing, top work :)

Fred,
A beautiful long distance shot of this pair of Mountain Zebra watching you closely from their stand on the rock strewn ground, the one in front looks pregnant? Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Quite a nice nature shot posted here! Did not know that zebras lived in deserts! Your fine composition gives us a good view of their harsh looking environment. Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely done!

I bet these guys have great hearing with those big wide ears -- wider than the burro and mule family. I am glad to see that they look nice and fat. I have read that the reason they have not been used as pack animals is because of their strong necks. A British veterinary surgeon tried gentling a larger Grevy's zebra and it just set its head where it wanted and took him wherever it liked! (Captain Horace Hayes.) Thanks for sharing your photo!
