Excellent capture of this Rhinoceros looking as if he's posing just for you. I like the angle you used, showing the grasses in the foreground. Very good lighting and focus showing a nice clear image. Great composition. Suzanne

The Rhino indeed looks not black. Its color looks as if it rolled in mud which covered the animal entirely, even its horn. This color seems a good camouflage for the animal in its environment. The panorama formatting works. The Rhino in well placed into the frame. The photo is balanced.

    You're most welcome. :o)
    I know its not mud, but the color looks like it.

Sad that he can't keep his horn because of awful humans! His facial features stand out well and I like the stance that you captured and how well it shows off his entire shape.

Seeing a black rhino in the wild must be a great thrill. Nice shot. Looks like its horn has been clipped to reduce chances of being poached. Nice details in the shot. Well seen.

I imagine that this beautiful animal was in some kind of a wildlife compound. You can see that his horn has been cut off for his own protection against poachers. A fine shot in all regards.

A fantastic portrait shot (in landscape framing) of this magnificent beast, captured with great timing and from a great point of view that gives a superb profile of the sturdy, almost machine like build of the Rhino, but capturing the peaceful, almost smile on its face - great to see in its natural environment, in a near monochromatic setting and taken with sharp clarity and composition - lovely shot :)

It's a little underexposed but otherwise a great capture. Well focused. You don't see to many of these animals in the wild. Thanks for sharing it.

Fred,
A beautiful picture of this not so beautiful endangered animal by those who believe it's horn with enhance their "performance" when they'd be better off chewing their own finger nails! Beautiful composition in among the dry grasses beautiful soft natural lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

    merci Suzanne;
    as you can see,, the rangers cut partailly the horn in order to avoid the rhino to be killed by those who sell the horn

    Fred,
    I did notice that but was not sure if I was seeing something..It's so sad it's come to that next they will have to cut the tusks of young Elephants to prevent their death by poachers.
