Gorgeous colors!! I love the texture of the clouds and the silhouette of the trees in the foreground. Good contrast and composition! I love it!

Thank you so much! I just gave the contest committee a piece of my mind after they reviewed it, decided it was art and not a photo, and disqualified it! They gave me no time to respond, and I have other sunrise photos like it -- it is obviously a photo!!!

So sorry to hear of your disqualification! Such a beautiful photo...totally wrong decision on their part!

Really an incredible colored sky with outstanding clarity in the clouds. The palms add the perfect silhouetted frame and make the colors really pop out. Very unique and beautiful entry for the contest.
Best wishes

Thank you so much! I have had two requests to remove the frame so uploaded a new image that has not updated yet...

I think that will look great! You're welcome

Stunning work. I like the silhouette framing, which adds greater depth of field and definition. Good clarity and composition. An excellent shot.

A Beautiful sunset and landscape shot. The colors are stunning and the silhouettes really stand out. Perfect! The only suggestion is that the salmon colored frame does not seem to fit the motif of the scene. To me it somewhat clashes with those gorgeous on fire clouds. I know it is supposed to be pink, but somehow it detracts from this Fabulous scene. That's just me. Great entry for the contest for sure and I do wish you well in the voting ~ Steve

Thank you very much! Okay I can leave off the frame... Did you ever try evaluating my manuscript? Too much of a headache! Daphne Oberon

OKAY I REMOVED TE FRAME AND UPDATED IT BUT IT WILL TAKE A WHILE TO SHOW THE NEW ONE...Also you had recommended I change the name of Blue Moon, and I was going to after getting permission from Tom, but so many reviews had been written in that name that I hesitated to shake everything up... Thanks!

The new one is already up. I personally think it looks much better. But remember all of my suggestions are only My opinion and normally that doesn't count for much. Excellent photo ~ Steve

I am still in the process of reviewing your manuscript. I will definitely let you know what I think. So far it is fascinating.

Thanks for letting me know! The rest of the manuscript is being reviewed by my editor friend who just came "back on line" after his father died. I thought he was done for good, especially as he wanted to do this even though I am not paying him; this will be good as he catches duplication and and inconsistencies I am to brain dead to catch! He should be done soon... Have a great day!

I am very surprised by the color of the sky since you indicate that there are no mixed media; never seen such a color; excellent composition;

Thank you! My father used to say that the La Paz area sunrises and sunsets were the most spectacular in the world due to the "atmospherics" -- I don't know if this is so, but kind of think I have never seen anything quite like them since!

Quite a nice entry into the competition posted here! Your fine, traditional composition offers us an enjoyable look at your beautiful location. Sharpness and exposure are good. Well done and good luck!

nice entry for the contest, good luck with it, still the frame looks not in place and distracting

also, the fact that the lower part is dark and without details takes from the initial impact

thanks for sharing

Thanks! Still, on my end, bear in mind that this is a scan of an ancient Kodak slide before the cameras had spot metering... Also, strangely, all other reviewers like the frame including a six star reviewer and a wishful six star reviewer, alaskapat, so it is hard to know! At my request, she offered to help me edit it for a poster, so we will see what comes out of that. Thanks for your well-intention-ed review... Daphne Oberon

Such an awesome and colorful capture. The angle of the shot of this colorful skyview with dark terrain skyline is awesome. The clarity is excellent. The capture of the light is perfect. The image is well balance and very eye appealing to the viewer. Great eye and awesome work overall (clapping)

Thank you so much Mark! It is so intriguing how different reviewers view a post. Everyone so far likes the frame except one reviewer who has her own studio and NEVER gives me a good review on anything no matter what. Did you have time to read my caption for Pink Beyond the palms? As far as I know, other than one exception in a decade, the part about the price of a journey to La Paz being the cost of a horse was the way it was. I only heard of one stallion recuperating once it got to La Paz, and that story goes on to result in one of his offspring becoming the DRAGON MULE in My Grandfather's Horses, the screenplay I sent you.... Thanks so much and enjoy! Daphne Oberon

Yes I read it and it is well written and descriptive of this horse actions. The reader can visualize it. You had mentioned converting to a cartoon video. I suggest this to test the waters. Take a small scene of this horses actions and try to match it up with the music to set the mood. Now if you make it to lengthy you can bore the viewer. Keep it short..5 minutes or less. Watch the reaction from the crowd(by either likes and or comments)...yeah I can see this could work..maybe they can be helpful trialers to whoever does the movie that you were talking about. Wink

Thanks Mark -- my friend is supposed to be recording the full song then I will try to map out the horse action... Thanks again!

Quick question if you have the time, "Busy Guy!'" What dimensions do you find ideal for your work -- for posting on U-Tube? 8x10 or? Do you use any software in the "assembling" process?
reply by MKFlood on 21-Sep-2018
i have a very wide range of sizes..depends on the project..from 5x8 to 8x11 to 11x16 to 24x22 and done some 36x32 as far as work..again it depends on the project..now if you referring to the youtube the majority is 1/2 done in 5x8 and the other half is done 8x11. they are scanned then converted to jpg and post..i have youtube video program so that is where the fun begins...timing.editing..special effect..fun..lol..it took over time and playing..to me personal my favorite one is "Its not easy to be me".

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain the dimensions and youtube program you use; it keeps me from stumbling all over the Internet getting discouraged by thinking I need what I can't afford!
reply by MKFlood on 21-Sep-2018
nope..its cheap..there is even a free program you can download from the site..it will let you make up to a 10 minute video

..and hence our wonderful cowboy stories! As a girl I read whole series of cowboy stories, but this is one which I had never encountered. They say the truth is more interesting than fiction. Often it is so. Glorious colours. When I was in the WJAC we had to study cloud formations. this one is something special.

Thanks for your great review! Yes, as far as I know, other than a few exceptions, that was the way it was. I only heard of one stallion recuperating once it got to La Paz, and that story goes on to result in one of his offspring becoming a character in a cowboy/new generation novel I wrote. If you are still a reader of this kind of story, you are welcome to the current manuscript, but you must email me at daphneoberon@gmail.com. and I will send it as an attachment. (It is novel length. Alternatively, I have a screenplay of the story that is much shorter... This story has some magic realism in it based on folklore... Daphne Oberon

This is a wonderful shot of nature. You have timed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort! Good luck.

PS: Since this being a photograph, you need to post it under the 'Photography' .Presently it is in paintings section!
