Great notes attached to this fine looking artwork. Love the red robin against the green toned background. Nice composition and framing of the subject. Love it.

This is a very well made digital painting. I like the traditional realist approach! The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Well drawn image of this common bird. Your drawing is colorful and eye catching. The details on the bird are well presented (I might have liked for more of the crest on its head to be visible). Your strokes do a good job of showing the textures off the feathers. Nice catch light in the eye. Well seen and well presented.

Thank you very much for your encouraging review and advice. I have paintings and photos in my portfolio where head and creast are more visible already. I wanted to do something else this time. :o)

Thank you very much for your encouraging review. This one and its siblings just have eaten all the treads. It's one of the juveniles of my backyard residential. :o)

This is a beautiful view of the Northern Cardinal. The bright color contrasts and focus gives the subject a 3-D effect. The details conveyed in the Northern Cardinal's feathers give it texture.

An avian delight despite the low lit condition.
Flowing fluid light impasto strokes...
A dynamic diagonal pose.
Avocado green backdrop lends a vibrant contrast to the brownish orange plumage.
Thanks for sharing...

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments and your input. I will check the post again, but when I checked after the upload yesterday, the light seemed OK to me.:o)

Nice nature picture of the bird.
A good composition.
An interesting dark foreground platform for the Cardinal to perch upon while the platform leads us into the green background.
Nice details in the bird's coloring.
I wish there were some highlights on the bird or in its eye.
Good technique.

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments. I painted some gray highlight into the eye. It should be visible when you click on the original sized painting. There are no special highlights on the bird because I painted the bird in a low light condition on a cloudy day to show its original coloring without reflection. Juveniles and females do not have the brighter colors of adult males. :o)

Oh how cool Cleo. I can see why you are one the The Top digital artists here on FAR. The colors and details are really well done. The pose is just so classic for this bird. I really like these guys and they like my feeders! Great work Cleo ~ Steve

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments. This is one of the juveniles of my residential backyard couple. This young bird and its siblings eat just up all the treads I had provided for them, probably waiting for more. They aren't shy. So I had prefect time to scratch some of the bunch. :o)
