Wonderful initial impression: this is a beautiful male red cardinal! He is in a nice pose allowing a side profile view, I see nice detail in his feathers, face and beak, nice eye, complete with a reflective light ! Colors , tones and variations of tone appear natural! Size and shape are very realistic. I like the way you pose him on the old tree stump and appreciate the detail you have applied there as well, the green background does a nice job of pushing the subject forward. This is very well created and impressive to view. Very well presented!

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments. That is actually how that one posted for me. The tree stump is in my own backyard. The birds are not shy, they are used to me. I bribe them with sunflower seeds, so I have time to scratch them. This one was just waiting for more treads. :o)

Such beautiful colours and great presentation. I like that the bird stands on a neutral colour to show him at his best, and his diagonal lines are very pleasing on the eye. Great work.
