When you capture your creations you need to darken the contrast to give the ability to see your creation. Its so light I had to widen the screen to make out the image.. presentation is as important as the artwork itself. What I could see the body form and language of both flower bird.is good. The blend is ok but it is sooooooo light and I can faintly tell the shading. It's an easy fix..recapture it and then repost..wink

This drawing is very well rendered. Lovely smooth lines. Fineness of the features well drawn. But I personally feel the brightness and contrast could have been improved. Overall a good effort!

Thank you so much for your great review of my work. I t was a bit of a challenge for me to render the subject matter in graphite pencil and charcoal rather than color. I feel it lent more to the sense to fantasy. In future charcoal and graphite work I will be more careful to show more brightness and contrast again for your review .

Monochromatic creation with fine features and Shimmering textures.
Soft highlights and
Faint shadows...
Subtle illumination.
Thanks...

Thank you so much for your wonderful review of my work. I sought to convey a sense of wonder for the viewer. Using graphite pencil and charcoal instead of color was challenging but I feel I achieved this. Thanks again for your review.

A very stylized shot that does not reflect the behavior of the bird very accurately. They would never fly at night and I have never seen one drink from a rose. The image does appeal to a sense of fantasy and I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

Thank you michiganmike for your review. It was my intention to create a sense of wonder. In order to achieve this purposely put the subject in an improbable situation. Thank you again for your review.

Thanks so much for your great review of my work GallaG. I wanted to challenge myself to create this fantasy scene by using graphite pencil and charcoal instead of colored pencils. I think I met that challenge. Thanks again for your review .

Thanks for the great review of my work dalebraatz. It was a challenge for me to render this scene using graphite pencil and charcoal instead of color. However I feel by using the media I used allowed me to convey a sense of wonder that I might not have been able to if I had used color. Thank you again for your review.

Your very welcome, I agree colors would not have done this justice,

This is a stunning image. As well as the main subjects, I see an angel there, just under the moon, and faeries in the moon itself. With the sprinkling of stardust and the nectar dripping from the bird's beak, this is magical art.

Thank you SandrainSpain for your review. I thought that it would be interesting to portray a fantastical scene by using graphite pencil and charcoal instead of color. I think it further enhances the mystical quality of the work. Thanks again for your feedback.

Strong initial impact! This is beautiful ! I really like the gray tones as opposed to color for this scene and feel that it supports the mood you are trying to convey, the beautiful hummingbird drawing nectar from the rose, the moon surrounded by clouds in the upper right corner. This is very well rendered and I appreciate the details you have applied. I can see this as the face of a beautiful greeting card. Well presented! Best wishes to you in the contest!

Thanks Alaskapat for your review of my work. I was in a very mystical mood when I created this piece. I wanted to convey aa improbable scene without relying on color. I think that using the tools I used puts the viewer in a mood they might not have thought could have been conveyed unless by the use of color. Thank you again for your review.
