She really looks muted with cheeks bulging as if she's holding what she's about to say! ;-))

Don't they make any sound?!?

Subtle illumination.
Enhance brightness a bit...
Sharply focused.
Fine facial features & smooth textures.
Almost monochromatic...
Grayish overtone.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.

Thanks so much my friend for appreciating!

Thank you very much for the great review Dick! Mute Swans do make sounds, but their call is hoarse and muffled so it doesn't carry like the calls of other swans.

You have pictured this beautiful swan so well Barbara, and I am sure he would be very pleased with his portrait. The light is falling so nicely on his head, and the light blue background makes him stand out in an excellent way.

Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details all over. Both the exposure and white balance is perfect.

The tight cropping works so well, and the swan has got a very fine placement a bit off to the left. Indeed a lovely and well taken swan portrait, and with an excellent DOF.

Nice nature capture of the swan.
It has good presentation and composition.
Very good angle of view.
Nice details and textures.
Good sharp focus.
The lighting is not good, but it appears to be on an overcast day. You might consider adjusting the brightness and contrast unless you desire to keep the current mood.

Thank you so much for the great review Bruce! It was a very overcast day, it started raining a few minutes after I took this photo. I see what you mean about the lighting, but sometimes I like the soft light of an overcast day.

Oh, this is stunning. It's so clear and sharp, it could be a photo. Nice detail on the swan's face and beak, and good positioning. Excellent work.

Wonderful initial impression! This is a beautiful image , a close look at the mute swan ! Swans are such gorgeous birds! Well photographed with good focus, the image is clear, well controlled exposure and white balance, colors and tones are natural, this shows excellent detail, I can see every feather , beautiful detail in its face, the orange bill and the black outline! Nice eye contact, complete with the reflective light! Well composed and presented! I love this!

And a very nice looking portrait it is too! Your full and central composition grants us a really enjoyable look at your swan. The detail you have captured is enjoyable. Sharpness and exposure are good. Well taken!

This is a fine close-up shot of the swan!. You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Doesn't look like he is grinning?. Lol...so awesome! The clarity is great. The angle of the shot of this smiling swan is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

A very nice shot. The exposure for the white plumage is very good and although the color of the orange bill is not very saturated, the catchlight in the eye is excellent.

Thanks for the great review, Mike! I agree that the color of the bill isn't as saturated as it usually is on a Mute Swan. It may have been because it was a very cloudy day. I tried making adjustments during post processing but nothing I did looked natural so I just left it as it is.
