An eye catching image. I think that is largely due to the dark background which surely does emphasize the colors in the leaf. The lighting on the leaf and the twig is fantastic.

A beautiful picture of this leaf bathed in autumn sunshine highlighting it's colour changing from green to gold & russet as it dries & then falls to the ground the dark background making it stand out in three dimensions from it. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

I just love the simplicity of this photo, and how lovely the light is falling on the leaf. The all dark background is very effective for the leaf to stand out in an excellent way.
Your photo is sharp showing really clear and well defined details in the leaf, and the exposure is very good.
The photo is nicely cropped and the leaf has got a very good placement within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.
