Excellent pair as if on the look out for some intruders coming.
I like how they stand so erect!

Monochromatic overtone with subdued lighting.
sharply focused facial features and fine textures.
Great perspective & narrow dof!

Better to have more breathing space in front than at the back...

A beautiful picture of this pair of Meerkats on guard-duty keeping watch outside their burrows their shadows behind them, both heads turned to their right as they scan the surrounding countryside for signs f danger. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
