Wow, this is worthy of my last 6, love the way the sun shoots shot out across the ship, and across the water, the sky is very interesting and the people add depth, an life to the image,
A pleasure to look at, thank you for sharing, dale

This is a very special picture, and your story is quite entertaining. Of course I believe every word, but I also think you have added some great effects to support your story. I really like the beam of light, and the smoke effects framing the shop. I also like the mix of monochrome and sepia.

The people in the foreground actually looks like they have seen something special, and they are standing out sharp and well defined against the shiny sea. I also think the exposure is fine, and sun is so nicely reflected in the water.

The format and framing works well, and the people placed off to the right are nicely balanced against the ship on the left. Indeed a creative, great looking, well taken and edited photo Steve.

This looks like the scene from a movie where some sort of a disaster , occurred, the sky is ripped open and I see smoke all around the opening. This is pretty cool Steve, very dramatic, the people standing in silhouette add to the mysterious mood. Well photographed! Effective post processing! Well presented!

An interesting story and a very nice illustration of it. The pirate ship is a little strange in that sails of that size would have an awful hard time getting the boat anywhere. Interesting effects and great colors.

I guess what I would want to know, is how much of the sky area is original to the shot and what filter editing you did. It's hard to believe the sky in this is natural, but who knows. Love the effects though and it is highly unusual. The black silhouetted figures and that of the boat added wonderful contrast. It's awesome.

First off Julie, I thank you so much for your wonderful review and comments. I am truly honored with your Fabulous rating. Thank you.

As far as this photo: This is a tourist Pirite Ship that goes around the Bay in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This time it came very close to shore. The sun was where you see it in the upper right of the scene. I moved a bit to get some silhouetted people in the scene to make it interesting. The sky was a clear blue at the time. I used Smart Photo Editor to add the smoke like effect. I also changed the color to Sepia Tone (the brownish color), That did two things: It gave a different look and feel and just as importantly, if you can't get the colors right change the entire color scheme. People will judge colors that are off pretty harshly but with a Sepia Tone (or another overall color) they don't even think about correct and realistic color. Does that make sense? I also added a light flare and centered it on the sun so it looked like a sun flare. That was to add a bit of drama to the entire scene. I did a couple of little enhancements to the reflection on the water and on the beach also.

There you have it Julie. I have never detailed what I do to a photo before and why I do it. If anyone reads this except you I think my goose is cooked ! LOL. I guess the main thing Julie is to get a shot and as you do think of the possibilities of after photo as you take the shot. That is your starting point.

Please forgive me for rambling on and on. I hope this made a little sense. Thank you again Julie for your wonderful review and Grand rating ~ Steve
