although I prefer paintings which deal with someone's life or thoughts, there is absolutely no shame in painting from something, as long, as in literature, you give a bibliography, a paintography if you like. When I was at Art College, every Thursday we were asked to copy a master, just to see how it is done, as well as read the life of one.. but anyhow, very topical, you could definitely use this on Christmas cards.

This is a memory of my daughter's love of her big teddy present more than 30 years ago. I agree that story telling is a large part of art and I do try and show this also. I have planned to use this for a card just for family especially as I won't be seeing them this year's Christmas. Your review was welcome and interesting. Thank you.

Very well drawn. The girl is made to look as though the big bear has dwarfed her and shows the size of the bear well. The color palette for this was well chosen as everything blends together nicely. The Christmas tree branches coming from the right hand side is a nice touch to add more interest. Shading is well done also. Very cute.

A very understanding review of my intentions thank you your comments very welcome. In real life the bear was almost my size of 4ft 11ins. My daughter used to roll him around then take him to a wall and sit on his lap like an armchair. Memories!

I am looking at this now but not sure if it's me observing that should be looking direct to get a better angle or the child is not correct in her posture. / angle

its not the painting itself..its how you captured the creation. its an easy fix..just take another capture of it but do it directly..wink

Thank you so much for reviewing and your supporting comments. I was diagnosed with Asthma earlier this year and it has so disrupted everything. Now learning to cope better so hopefully my inspiration will return.

Wow your comments and award have so much honoured me. That my art gave an emotion is unreal. I told my partner what you had said as i was so thrilled and he said i think you can feel the cuddle she is giving the bear. Again thank you so much for making me feel good about This.
