A gorgeous capture of the male Woodpecker with the peanut in it's mouth. Good timing with good facial expression. I think you low perspective is aiding in your composition. Perfectly cropped and well composed shot. I like your off central placement of the bird. Very well photographed with good lighting, sharp focus, and wonderful details in your image. Outstanding shot and thanks for sharing.

Beautiful shot! You capture all the detail in your subject. I like your title and knowing the bird is trying to eat a peanut give perspective to its size. For us peanuts are so small, but it looks enormous in his delicate beak!

Oh what a great scene here Grace. The colors are so well rendered and the feathers have a soft smooth look yet the focus is sharp. Wonderful pose with perfect placement in the frame.

Perhaps the one who gave the nomenclature had seen one with beak burrowed in the chest plumage--mistaken the head for belly.
