Nice capture of the sun going down with it right on the horizon. Nice colors in the sky and water. The dock and people in the dark silhouette is a nice contrast. Well focused and lighting is good.

What a beautiful sunset atmospheric picture you have framed! I love the silhouette of the gathering of people on that pier admiring the beauty transcending behind them. Lovely lay of light, tone and overall appealing composition. The birds add movement the the depths of the scene stretches our imagination beyond into the frame.

Amazing color, despite the lack of clouds. It looks like a lot of people are out there on the pier enjoying this sunset. I live on the other side of Florida, so we get to see the sun rise over the ocean. Nice shot!

Yes it's a lovely postcard and the pink and black are captivating but it's a picture you wouldn't look at for long because it doesn't keep the viewers interest just like a postcard

Ah. My kind of sunset Allan. This one has all the elements. The water is sharp and has that beautiful rose tint which matches the first color on the horizon. The sun is wonderfully captured as it has about one minute before dipping below the horizon (it happens quickly doesn't it?) Such a short window of opportunity. The rose color gently turns to lavender as it begins to blend with the pastel blues. The dock in silhouette makes for a great balancing element for the sun and shows perspective and depth of field. The birds add a nice touch to the scene.

A wonderful entry for the contest and I wish you well in the judging Allan ~ Steve

Thanks Steve for the great review. Indeed that last of the setting sun goes very quickly. And if you are lucky you can see the infamous "green flash" for a brief second or less. I saw it only twice in my lifetime. Thanks again.

wow! this is absolutely incredible! the entire scene looks like melted cotton candy and purple gatorade :D this is truly deserving of six stars with the fabulous depth of focus, the rich colour saturation, and the beautiful subject matter

Thanks Miranda, I like your comment about melted cotton candy, never thought of it that way for sure. Sunsets over the Gulf are a real fun thing to do, fortunate to have been there to capture the moment.

And of course thanks for the super high rating, loved it.

We have had perfect fall like weather here this month. The sunset colors are gorgeous and your timing to catch the sun just before it dips below the horizon was perfect.
Fine angle, sharp focus and nice control on white balance.
Beautiful capture Allan.
