Not sure that I have heard of brambling birds before! Your four reasonable photos provide us with useful looks at this somewhat rare bird. Well done overall!

Nik.
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this Brambling.
It was the first time I've ever seen one. They only winter on our two Islands. Breeding in Scandinavia.
Apparently they are usually seen with Chaffinches which was what happened in my case.

This is another beautiful bird that has visited your yard, such a rich rust tone of its breast and picked up again in its wings, this is a good storytelling collage to show this birds very first visit, I am glad you were able to capture these shots and share them. I am impressed at how well you know the various birds! Well presented!

Pat,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on the Brambling Collage.
When I was 16 my Mother gave me a pair of bioculars & by way of "Payment" I had to keep a daily Bird Diary recording all the Birds I'd seen & of I did not know them I had to look them up in a large Bird Book. Now it so much easier I just Google Birdwatch Ireland to confirm the idenity.

It is always a treat to see a new bird. This one looks quite a bit like a bird I sometimes see in winter called a pine siskin. I like the variety of views of this beautiful little bird.

Mike,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on the Brambling.
I'm hoping the Siskins will return from the mountians before long for winter They have more green in their plumage than the Brambling.

it looks like one of the common birds we have but looking closely, it is more colorful;
the two pics at the bottom are very sharp and well framed; not sure the the two others are necessary,;

Fred,
Merci beaucoup mille fois for your complementary review on this Brambling.
It's similar to a Chaffinch ~Fringilla coelebes which I think in French is Pison des arbres
