certainly on the curve! though I also perceive squares and oblongs inside the door frames etc. I have actually photographed the floor leading up to our local Tescos, because it is formed from these same shaped tiles on your path here leading to the tower. I thought they would be interesting in some of my paintings. At times I am guessing what to put onto the floors.

Thank you for reviewing. Its interesting that you make photos to use later. I also am always on the look out for usable ideas to incorporate in artwork. Now i know where you get some of your shapes :)

I DON'T USUALLY, BUT THE PATTERN WAS SO INTRICATE ON THE TILES AT TESCOS THAT I DIDN'T THINK I WOULD REMEMBER IT AND I OFTEN USE GRIDS OVER MY WILDER IMAGES - I do know a lady who buys films, especially underwater ones, stops on one snap and paints it and she sells.

rarely from outside, I sit and the pencil does the walking practically all of the time. At times it pays to check if it is going to be a religious work or such, my son tells me off regularly, he is a Hari Krishna and he tells me I put RC imagery into his paintings so he never asks me for any now..

Well it could be his loss. We all have are beliefs and if we paint life then life often comes through without conscious thought i believe I am a Christian but not in the established belief sence. I often wonder where religions of this world will end up. So much distortion verywhere.

Thats not my kind of art its copying but there isroom for it. It will have her imprint unkess she is photorealistic. However if it sells and she enjoys doing it... why not.. I applaud her. Having said that I also have photo'd things for reference

actually, I have to maintain that artists who bare their souls are one type of art and copyists are a different kind, they are not the same. I have seen amazing copies of artists work, however, it tells me nothing about the artist, except that he/she is a good copyist. Re art college= the artist shows the world as she or he perceives it, and all around. though it is not always what others want to see. We had endless discussions on that point= what is art?

I m inclined to agree with you. Artists, who make from themself, develop or already have a style that is identifiabke. Even if copying is a sort of practice on how to do something, i find my quirks still comethrough. At the moment i am struggling with portraits. Inrge past I did some characatures fir fun .. put them on a wall in my studio and now i am being asked to do others of people on the island and they are giving me photos! I have lost the ability to characature and now am dwelling on their pictures and making an a.s.e of all :(

What an interesting architectural design they built here!
I like he how tilted it a little to help us grasp the concept of how this was built and appears!
This is well done!
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for excellent rating and review ... your remarks are understanding and appreciated. its a beautiful slightly neglected building in a group of trees. Now being built around with modern apartments.
Comment from Envision

The tilt makes an interesting impression and does seem to accentuate the curve in the road. The colors look very nice and I enjoy the various textures throughout the image. Your notes are also very interesting.

Cool!
Your photograph of this pleasantly 'medievally decorated' old water tower makes for an interesting and enjoyable photographic presentation,my friend!
And the tilted angle view that you've added to the scene makes it especially fun to look at! : )

This is really interesting taken on the angle as you did. It indeed does enhance the uphill idea. The colors are brilliant on the building. I feel the vehicles and the rope are a distraction.

Now, having read your interesting notes I have got a reasonable comprehension of your fascinating photo! Wonder where in the world this tower is? Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

Thank you. Your comments, are welcome and interesting. I learned the hard way that if you present a shot it is helpful to explain its oddities. Ie straight horizons, thirds etc. As a complete amsteur on the finer or important points i have learned much from reviewers as yourself so hence my notes explanation . Critique on presentation is more than welcome in my learning curve. I love to take photos but these days instead of just snapping away, .any advice i have had cones to mind which i try to incorpirate in the taking.

Your explanations are very welcome! But somehow you have not let me know about the location!?
reply by the author on 13-Jan-2019
Sorry. Its in Lùbeck, Germany. I meant to let you know. This area has much similar architecture and history. It was not damaged so much in the last war. It was the last place to fall and story goes not a fan of H. Fortunately the city centre has survived. It is durrounded by a Trave (rover) much like a moat and is not far from the Baltic. It has an early merchant involvement with one of the first trading routes.

Thank you. Love your remarks lol. I have to say i have learned so much from comments in the past about straight horizons and thirds etc. From such as yourself!.... Big thanks. That is why if i do something not in line i learned i must explain my action. Still much a learning novice.

Your welcome, I like this, but you could try standing where the road starts in the left corner of the image, you would get the curv of the road an thev tower would be straight up and down , just a thought you could try, dale

Expertise again i bow down. I will do this and see. I am sure it will be so.
reply by dalebraatz on 12-Jan-2019
No just have taken lots of pictures , most end up bringing deleted, I would go out and take from 200 to 400 pictures at the park , then when I would get home, look at them on the computer, first time 25 percent gone, next time about 30 percent deleted, I would end up with about 15 to 30 pictures,
reply by the author on 14-Jan-2019
That's a lot of photos. No wonder you have excellent artwork. I must be more disciplined and delete some of mine. Its so time consuming.
reply by dalebraatz on 14-Jan-2019
Yes it is, but so well worth it, each one I delete I ask why , I look to see how it could be better, the next time I go out and shoot more I try to remember ,

I have so many that definitely need to be cleared... I will try your example. Thanks again.

This is a very unusual and creative presentation. I appreciate the explanation because I could have really seen this as being a leaning tower. The focus is clear and crisp. I like the way your presented the curve in the road. It looks like it was a beautiful day. Great job!

Thank you. Great comments and rating. Appreciated. The road is sloped and the tower does look leaning while you walk the road until of course you reach it . A bit of an illusion. I tried to keep that by an angle shot. Again thank you.
