A very apt scene for the contest Nik. The simplicity of the barren landscape suddenly interrupted by the wind powered generators is a perfect example of how man has interrupted the natural flow of things.

Good use of the rule of thirds here. A good entry for the contest and I wish you the best of fortune in the judging ~ Steve

This is a good contest contender.
Nature is so beautiful especially when left alone by man , however that being said wind power ultimately saves the environment as well. So I have to compromise with the structure.
Your photo has a good vantage point that allows the viewer to fully see the a long line of man made structures within the water.
The rule of three is evident .
Good contest entry.

Great entry for the contest showing how man has impacted on the landscape. I like the way you have presented this my only critism is the brightness of the shot but catching a landscape when the sky is as white as the sea is difficult. Good luck with the competition.

We have these of the shore in gt Yarmouth Norfolk nik,and have taken a couple of photos of them, but heres the rub, they are to far away to make then interesting and I think that what comes across in this, fine if you were out at sea underneath them, also think the weather was against you that day.
Sorry for being negative but that's just how I see this..Brian

No problem, I would much rather have honest reviews than false and artificial ones!

OMG> Are those windmills out in the ocean? Very clever. We have them here in the United States but they are all on land. The ocean makes more sense. This is a good capture of man effecting nature and a very good contest entry. Very nice focus and lighting. Great framing and well balanced.

Yes, those windmills are definitely secured on the seabed of the Irish Sea! Glad you enjoyed the shot and very many thanks for your kind review!

what a good shot! and a great title to go along with it!
the three layers of the photo fit together really nicely to give this great modern English seaside feel

Nik,
An interesting vie of these Wind-Turbines off the coast at Formby, Lancashire against a pale autumn sky reflected on the glistening & calm Irish sea below as it creeps up the sandy beach. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

nice angle of shot and depth of field, but the colors and contrast need some pop up, the photo looks very pail and not attractive

nice creativity

These windfarms are amazing although rather deadly to many birds. Was amazed at the number of the towers in Kansas.
This image lacks crispness and having been taken on a overcast day does not bode well for its appeal. A bit too much negative space in the foreground. As these images streach in a horizontal line, a panoramic image would be more effective which could be obtained with a crop. The horizon has a very small tilt but for some reason it seems to stand out more than the amount of tilt should cause - may be partially due an optical illusion caused by the angle of the shore.

Saw these a lot lately here in the states! However, into near water like this! Very interesting!
This picture doesn't do it justice for how big these really are!
Very well done!
