Beautiful shot of the jay, Pat.
It looks for all the world like he is trying to choose the very best one. Lovely colors and just a great background to match his blues.

This is so lovely, Pat. The composition with placement of the birds and the nuts in the frame is so nice. The soft blurred background, the perfect canvas. Your light management is so nice. The light on the bird and the snow and nuts is so appealing to the eye. Love the colors. Overall, an image that is a joy to view.

Great shot of this colorful jay. I've never seen one with fine green and glowing blue colors that you beautifully captured. They are certainly food thieves. I had them eat an entire pie while camping once. A friend's yellow lab feeds peanuts to a Jay that flies into the garage and takes it from her mouth. They've never been shy when food is involved. Great shot.

Isn't he lovely. His hind feathers are my favorite colors and blending of colors. Very good focus. You are lucky to have such visitors. Nice overall photo and treatment.

This is another bird I have never seen before. I have seen pictures. We have the Blue Jay here and I assume they are both the same size. I use the feeders to lure the birds in but I don't like showing the feeder. I put the feeder close to a bush so the birds land there. Otherwise I like your picture.

Thanks so much Willie! I appreciate your comments and review, I don?t show feeders either ,these peanuts are on the railing where the Steller Jay comes.

Thanks so very much! They do exactly that, they pick one up, put it down ,and keep doing it to choose the peanuts in some type of an order, they are awesome birds, very comfortable around people.i really appreciate your support!

The bird is tack sharp as is the food it is about to eat. The shallow depth of field pleasantly blurs the background. I like the catch-light in the bird's eye. and the shadows provide a depth to the subject. Well done.

A very nice shot. I am glad you got him before he tried to see how many he could cram in his beak at once. I like the detail in his eye which is sometimes lost in the dark plumage. Good composition and great colors.
