Great story telling factor.
An interesting initial impact.
Bright lighting. Pin sharp focusing. Good framing.
Breaking some rules is not always a rebellious photographic gesture...
But its always better to have more space to where they are facing...
Please don't clip tips!

Hey Nik!
The thing I really like about this scene is the dichotomy of the two main subjects.
First is the dramatic wall painting giving testament to the people of Belfast who were throwing off their oppression and showing their revolutionary spirit.
Secondly, and almost the opposite, two men stand relaxed, seeming almost oblivious to the dramatic flag symbol.
Great juxtaposition of the two themes in this one Nik. Good work my friend ~ Steve

you're right. i do think this is rather a dramatic scene. the faded colours of the flag, the serious looks on the faces of the men... this definitely has a serious undertone. i like it :)

I think this is a great street scene with the Union Jack painted on the wall. I also notice that the only colors to be seen apart from they grey and black hues is blue and red, and I like very much this limited color pallet.
Your photo is nice and sharp showing clear and well defined details all over, and the exposure is spot on. The colors are crisp and clear.
The format and framing is very good and with the to men off to the right, it is a good balance in the composition. A great looking and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

My grandmother was from Ireland (Callaghan), and many relatives several times removed visited our home. One being with IRA. I didnt know this was their flag. I dont know what a betting shop is. But I find all of it fascinating

Yes, the IRA is the Irish Rebublican Army.
The flag is the Union Jack of the United Kingdom of the British Isles.
A betting shop is a business which will accept bets on horse races, football matches, and all manor of events, even political elections!
