Very pretty shot of the cottonwood tree. Some interesting info I was not aware of. I like how you filled your frame and the lovely sky patterns for a great background. Lovely colors and details. Good center of interest and story telling ability. Good control over your lighting and exposure. Very good technique and high technical excellence. Thanks for sharing and congrats!

Grace,
A beautiful picture of the Cottonwood tree against the Mackerel sky as the sun was preparing to see adding a golden glow along the horizon the branches in silhouette like filigree or lace against the sky, blue behind the clouds. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Wow! I love the way the sky is a soft yellow near the bottom and changes into blue at the top. Very cool. The tree is also lovely. And I found reading about it so interesting. Thanks!

What a beautiful tree. Thank you for the notes on the tree. very interesting. I love how the branches spread out enough to allow the pretty blue sky to peep through. Wonderful POV of the sky in soft yellow at the bottom fading up into lovely blues. Terrific focus and beautiful lighting. Well framed.

Beautiful tree and an even more beautiful sky, Grace. Really like the clouds which allow a lot of the blue to show through. I grew up in New Mexico and there were tons of cottonwoods there along the creeks. And they were huge, as you described.

That is interesting, I hadn't realized they were common in New Mexico. I'm surprised how well they withstand our cold weather. Thank you for your nice comments :)

Cottonwoods are some of my favorite trees in the Wintertime to photograph. You've got beautiful coloring going on here with the darkness of the tree against the sky.

Just like up here in upstate New York,Grace!
( Some of these that grow down around the edges of Little Goddess Swamp are enormous! )

I have one down by the water in my yard. It is not a beautiful as this one because it is in amongst some maples and a willow or two. This one is gorgeous against that beautiful sky.

This is indeed a lovely picture of a cottonwood tree against a lovely light blue sky with a show of white small clouds. The colour ofthe tree is beautiful andthe filigre of branches show well against the sky
I like the angle of the shot, it makes the size of this tree look a giant. Very nice light technique and focus
