A very sharp shot with great colors. The composition is good, but I am not fond of the light rectangle in the background, even if it does go with the railing and fence.

Thank you! I'm not sure there was anything I could do about that. I do appreciate hearing your opinion :)

This jay's probably thinking "it's mine, all MINE!" And doesn't have to worry about any confrontation.Great stop action photo with good focus especially the fanned out tail feathers.Ours like to imitate red-tailed hawks.Really pleasing image of this blue bandit!

Lol! Yes the jays are practically at the top of the hierarchy with the song birds. He just need to hope the red-bellied woodpecker doesn't see him :) Thank you very much for your nice review!

They're clever birds,aren't they.Grace?
Your photo of this one zooming away with is prize, his tail feathers fanned out to give him extra 'lift' and maneuverability, is a lot of fun to view,my friend! : )

The Jays and their love of peanuts! We don't have the blue , we have the Steller and the grey Jays and they really love peanuts ! This one is taking off to go eat or store his peanut . Well focused, good storytelling, well exposed, colors are natural. Well composed to show this action . Well presented!

Thank you! I know, we don't have the Steller's. I would like to see one of those in person some day!

Great action photo! The fanned tail feathers remind me of a box-pleated skirt, which was popular in the 1960s. The straight legs are interesting, too. Of course you couldn't control the background; all white would have shown off the bird better. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! I think it looks like a skirt too. I thought about trying to change the background some but I wasn't confident that I wouldn't ruin it, lol!

What a cool action shot! I like that we can see his little feet getting ready to push off the ground. Interesting reading about the hawk call as well.

The stop action is superb but what I find most enjoyable are those FEET and the peanut string blowing in the wind!
This is a fabulous unique STOP action shot of a Jay with peanut.
Great clarity, colors, details and a sa-wa-eeeeet DOF!
You ALWAYS find the most unique shots of feeder birds!
Nice work Monty MIB!
