I used to collect owls. This guy is cute, but strange. He almost looks sleepy eyed. The background blur helps the owl stand out. I like the focus and lighting on the limb and the owl. You were in the right place at the right time. Excellent!

Oh how cool is this Eileen? I love this one. This is such a wonderful photo. Position in the frame is just right. Focus and details are pin point sharp.

I really think the almost diagonal branch adds such a nice dramatic element to the entire scene.

Eileen,
A beautiful picture of this little Eastern Screech Owl perched on that sloping branch keeping an eye on you from under it's "Eye brows" & the ridge of feathers that slope up & away from it's beak to make up it's "Ears". Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Great photo of this little gray phased screech owl,the same coloration as our resident screech owls.It does look a bit sleepy with it's half closed yellow eyes.Love the beautiful pattern of it's plumage.Very well focused with excellent dof,nice subtle lighting resulting in natural colors throughout.A real pleasure to view!

This is an excellent bird portrait. The owl is pin-sharp focused and well placed right of center. The photo is balanced and well frame. It is eye pleasing how the branch curves through the frame. The colors are realistic. The photo has good depth. The shallow background emphasizes the bird nicely.
