I love everything about this photo. The background really highlights the light on the Heron. There are so many interesting things here to see. The wing span, the fish in the heron's mouth and the stump of the tree rising out of the water for the heron to perch on. Stunning!!!

Another beautiful shot of the heron and the stump. The cropping is perfect and the bird is shown in very nice detail. I like the warm tones and the facial detail. Good luck in the contest.

Wow your focus is spectacular. The detail of the birds feathers, water dripping. The action you caught is incredible. That is what brought me to look further.The darker background push's the bird to front of the picture. POV is perfect, straight forward. Very unique photo.

Its a nice captured Pose of this Great Blue with wings up. I still like to see your shutter speed raised higher to get the sharpness and stop action wing tip to wing tip.
The whites on his head and fish are a tad bright, I would run this through UV filter to tone it down a tad.
Excellent example of right time right place as long as you wait it out. ;)
