I(f two fight it makes the third laugh. Looks as if the squirrel has god chances to get that bird food. I like the vivid colors and how the drawing is composed. The animals are nicely vertically lined up at the center. The two fighting birds are semi-framed by the tree and the bird-feeder, which emphasizes them. The squirrel is semi-framed by the branches.

Every picture tells a story doesn't it. As the birds fall, the squirrel looks in concern. At least he's not up there with his hands over his face, laughing. Great work. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Hi Mark, That little squirrel is on the ball. Those two birds are so busy with their squabble they are completely unaware their birdseed is about to disappear. Love your stories! Can't wait for the video on this!

Great cartoon, those of us with birdfeeders see it a lot. The detail and color is amazing. The tree and the hedge took some expertise and patience. A pleasure to view, like the cartoons from Gary Larson, The Far Side.

Well Christine I appreciate you trying to use Larson's work to compare to mine. The only problem is him and I are like night and day...he likes to make wierd cartoons that has pissed off many people even though the newspapers felt he was a good choice to stand out. Even though his medium is ink, it is you basic pen. I don't try to piss off people. I try to keep all my work in a "G" rating and as always my medium is always Sharpie and Bic pens in full colors with more shading and details...he does have one thing on me...he got his lucky break at a young age..my idol is Norman Rockwell which he didn't get his lucky break until he was past 50.. wink.. thanks for the good review

Oh no!! I m really sorry if I offended you because I meant to have the opposite reaction. I was never pissed off at his cartoons and thought they provided a unique sense of humor.
Well it doesn't change my opinion of your still think it is comical and artful. I hope that helps. You can be mad at me for just 1 day that started at the time of your post. So you're on the clock. LOL!! Hope you get your beak sooner than later. The word I would use for his would be provocative.

Oh I think you are misunderstanding..I'm not offended nor mad..he hasn't piss me off. However, over the years he did piss off a certain amount of folks who did complain to the newspaper. I do try to keep light hearted in the cartoon series when I was running them like "Funnie Flowers" or "Strange Critters". Heck the reason I claim all my work as a cartoon is only because I work with a office medium instead of a art one. You know how it is..if it is in ink oh yeah it has to be a cartoon. Really I'm a illustrator of stories.. have well over 1000 drawings in the ole portfolio to show that but heck who does really look thru the entire portfolio to view that? Zzzzzzzzzz.. lol ..so instead of targeting writers I went musicians and songwriters to make music videos with stories. Now after 20 music videos it is starting to pay off..if you get the chance can you stop by YouTube.com and search"MKFlood Presents". Now if you don't like going to YouTube you can search the recent post "Temporary Home Finale" and the video is attached to that drawing..or you can go to my profile page and view the recent release...or you can go to Fan music and search me there. So no I'm not offended..I'm just a fish in a big ocean of umpteen million wannabes artist who is hard headed and will keep promoting my work. Why? I always love to tell stories... well draw them that is .wink

Few drawings but that wasn't the goal. I trying to break into the music video business with my Lil ole sharpie and BIC pens and my imagination. This recent post that you have review is a scene for a new that I'm working with songwriter and musician Bryan Taylor. We have collaborated on 4 previous videos. He is releasing his new CD later this year and would like to use this collaboration for the promo.. recently I was confronted with a writer for childrens book and wanted to exclusively use some of my previous illustrations to go with his children poems..I asked him "How many you want?" ..he replies "I want to start with a hundred and we can go from there. " He told me it's to Target the 7-10 yrs thru the education system. So it's still a work in progress..wink

A few drawings but that was not the goal. My focus is on the music video industry. My several collaboration with Bryan Taylor has a chance of getting my foot in that door. Also I have a writer with previous publications wanting to use a 100+ of my drawings for his poems that will be published thru the education system. So it's a work in progress. Bet it's hard to believe that I'm a sales associate and forklift operator at Walmart for 40 hours a week too..if these other projects pay off..bye bye Walmart..lol

you can do it, you sound quite resourceful!

Sometimes it feels like an exhausting campaign on getting my foot in the door. Started that a decade ago...I'm hard headed..wink..lol

I really enjoy the personalities of the birds and the squirrel. You are very good at giving them all cute personality. Your details and colors are great as usual. I like the technique you used for the hedges, it adds a nice texture to the scene.

Mark,
A beautiful stop action picture of these two birds battling mid air beside the bird feeder while above a Squirrel waits for an opportunity to raid the feeder? Created from your vivid imagination, very skilful draftsmanship beautiful choice, blending & application of your colours in bringing the scene to life.

Looking forward to another video. Boy, this scene is familiar from my first house in Virginia. I use to watch rh3 birds and squirrels clamour for the feeder. Great rendering with a story tell as always.
