I love the pose that you captured him in. Head down, feather up. The just off center placement in the frame is really nice. I really like the soft light coming in from the left. The soft background creates a nice canvas for him to be presented on. Lovely work.

Love the tucked in pose they often do the take a quick nap. The slightest sound will make them look up. Great focus and fantastic white balance control Fred.

very handsome heron. You don't see many that are black and white. Thank you for your notes. Sange knows a lot about her birds, especially herons. This is a terrific presentation full of details. Very nice lighting and focus. The background compliments the heron. Excellent cropping and well framed. Beautiful.

This bird you call a grey heron I had to look it up and I got my answer. I am amazed at the way this bird looks like the great blue. I can tell you that I like this shot. I see them do this all the time.

This little guy is sweet. It looks like he's taking a nap and warming one foot. When it gets warm, he'll switch feet. He's a pretty guy with long stringy feathers. The ripples in the water behind him is a nice addition to the frame.
