Love that you captured the moment of the bird with its month open. Good color and detail. I wonder if you considered cropping a portion of the left of the image so as to focus more on your subject. Nice photograph.

    Dan,
Thanks a million for your complementary review. I cropped it as much as the focus would allow.
I do NOT use an DSLR with inter-changeable lens just a Lumix compact Camera & for the most part take pictures on Auto settings. If I fiddled with the Manual settings I'd have NO bird photos.

Susan, If you have an aperture priority available on your camera. That may help. Also the use of software may also allow you to work your photos without the loss of detail. That said I understand your comment, sometimes better to get an image, than no image at all.

Thanks for your helpful advice...review software my computer is thirteen years old running on windows Vista. I need an upgrade but finances won't allow it at present. I' m just grateful it's still working at all & can upload my pictures a few minutes ago I looked out to see four different species of small garden birds all feeding on the shelled Sunflower Seeds on the same feeder. My pictures were not perfect & will not be posted here.

This is a great shot. Maybe he was singing to you...his call. The couple that built the house I own had put a birdhouse up on a tall post and facing the dining room through the sliding glass door. Every summer the same bird laid her eggs in there. I would watch her bring her babies food, their necks craned, mouths wide open and chirping in hunger and excitement. One winter a big band of wasps built a home in there. I killed the wasps but no more birds in the birdhouse. I made a big birdhouse last year and completely tiled it in with colored glass tiles. Maybe I'll put that up this spring. The background, surroundings is very natural. All the various colors of Me. Robin and the foilage is really a joyous pic.

Cool Robbin Shot. It is always exciting to get a pleasant surprise when reviewing our shots. Your nice sharp focus of the open singing beak was one of those occasions I'm sure. I appreciate your added information as well. Thanks for sharing, good luck.

Wonderful capture of this sweet Robin 'singing' (and I would be very happy with that too) as it is very hard to get a well focussed clear image caught on camera.
Great lighting to distinguish colours and great composition. Well done my friend.

Thanks a million for your complementary review on this serenading Robin in Glendoher Park. This Robin appears to sing in this tree or it's neighbouring tree every day.

This is a lovely shot of your sweet robin, and an excellent capture of it with open beak!Your artists notes are wonderful and informative. It's always a pleasure to hear birds start singing as winter starts to wane,I have just started to hear an occasional cardinal sing, and our chickadees have been singing their"spring song".This is a great photo and I wish you all the best in the contest with it!

We have robins in Kentucky but not with such beautiful colors. I wish we could have gotten a closer look at him. The focus is clear and crisp. Through your description and writings I can hear his beautiful song. It looks like his beak is open and I'm sure singing a favorite tune.

    Mary,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this serenading Robin in the Park . I was almost at full zoom on my camera so if I cropped it closer the focus would be blurred.
Our Robins are Old World Flycatchers & are smaller than your Thrush like American Robins which are twice the size.
I understand some people have tried without success to bring Our Robin to America but it did not work out.

I think I might like your Robin's better. They really are much more colorful. Thank you for the information.

Quite a nice entry into the competition posted here! Your fine composition captures a nice and natural moment. Saw a couple of singing robins inside a couple of garden centres this afternoon. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!
