This is a great shot. You were able to capture the whole dragonfly and the colors are beautiful. Clarity, centering and the depth of focus is very nice. Nice to know the will come back if you have the patientions to wait them out. lol

A beautiful capture of this illusive fellow. All the gossamer details in the wings and the iridescence - not sure how you managed to show all this in a photograph!

I like the way selective focussing is used to blur the background in this image. This ensures that there are no distracting elements which will draw attention away from the main focus, which is the insect. Thanks for sharing.

Aptly captured for the contest theme...
An interesting initial impact.
A nicely framed subject in dynamic diagonal positioning.
An artistic rendition.
Subtle illumination.
Monochromatic colors (save for the arching dried reed)... Excellent details & features. Impressive setting & textures.
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Best of luck in the contest!
Thanks for sharing...

He turns and whispers to ya.." I'm the dark sheep of the family!" Lol. The angle of the shot of this dark bug sunning itself is great. The capture of the light is great. The clarity of is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

You have indeed captured this dragonfly well, and I really like the green and blue hues of the background. The dragonfly is standing out from it in an excellent way.
The photo is very sharp showing clear and well defined details both in the body and the wings. It is nothing wrong with the exposure either.
The photo is nicely cropped and the dragonfly has got a perfect placement within the frame. I think this is a lovely and well taken photo Willie, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.
