Nice image of a bird in the backyard. It is amazing the number of species that will frequent a feeder. It looks as if the subject is in the shade , thus preventing the ability to get a any detail of the bird's plumage. The fact that it is black does help the situation. You were able to capture the catch-light in the eye. The colors are good. It may have been helpful to employ a shallower depth of field so that the bird "pops". Well done.

Thanks a million for your complementary review & advice on what setting I should be using to get better results. For these pictures of fast moving birds I find for my compact camera the Auto settings suit me best as I have to be quick to capture the birds on the move.

You have indeed pictured this blackbird well Susan, and especially the eye is well captured. It is also standing out really well against the green grass.

Your photo is sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in the bird. I also think the exposure is very good.

The photo is nicely cropped and the bird has got a fine placement within the frame. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

Nice captured pose of this Handsome black bird Susan. I like the feather details along with nice eye clarity. The yellow ring around the eye and his beak shows well for shooting thru glass which is not easy.
Nice contrasting colors and fine details.

    Sandra,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this Blackbird on my lawn. He is a cousin of your American Robin. Same size & habits... I saw your Robins in Detroit & Berkley when visiting my American cousins.

Lovely capture of this lovely Blackbird, Susan, taken through your patio door as he looks up expectantly at you, begging you to fill up the feeder. Very good lighting and focus. The bright green grass makes a perfect background to show him off well. Suzanne

"Hey Lady. Where's my seeds" He certainly looks like he in waiting for the food. You spoil them so and I do too. I love making sure I keep all three of my feeders filled. Nice sunlight shining all around the blackbird. I get so many of these in my back yard it looks like a black blanket on the ground. Nice capture with good cropping within the frame.

    Linda,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this European Blackbird a close relative of your American Robin. Our Blackbird is Turdus merula Your Robin is Turdus migratorus.
I suspect the black birds you have in your garden in numbers are Starlings who often arrive in flocks.

Awe, he's waiting for you to fill the feeders, he is well focused, the image is clear, exposure is well managed, the colors and tones are natural, I see good detail in his feathers, face and beak, nice eye contact. He stands out beautifully from the green grass. Well composed and presented!

Poor guy! He must be real hungry. He appears to be really begging for food. This is a fine shot of the bird!. . The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!
