I must of missed this picture when you first posted it. It is a superb picture of the eagle. Really clear with great detail. Fierce looking!
Congratulations on your placement for photograph of the month. Well deserved.

That IS intimidating! I am so envious that you have access to these gorgeous animals. This close up is really nice. The central focus on that beak on those eyes is very effective. The image is a little soft and a little noisy. However, those are minor details in an otherwise lovely capture.

What a great shot of this bald eagle. He truly is looking at you with maybe a "I don't want to be photographed" look. Or what are you doing here? I love his eyes and his yellow beak with soft white feathers. Thank you for sharing.

Sure is a nasty looking bird. It's a great once in a life time shot. Sharp clean detail. I Like the way the long lens blurs the back ground. Well done, You get a super six star on this one. Just a bit of history, Ben Franklin wanted to make the turkey our National Bird.

What an incredible glare/ stare this Bald Eagle has. Such a wonderful profile of this magnificent bird.
Lighting is great to show the details of the feathers and his face...he really 'pops' from the background. Well captured.

What a wonderful head n shot you have made here Pat.

That look reminds me of the posters we had in our "Hooches" in Afghanistan.

That look always reminded us why we were there and that no matter what our mission was we would carry it out no matter what.

The Eagle was always placed by an American Flag that had a note attached. "These Colors Never Run".

Got of track there. Back to your image. Great pose with focus in just the right places. It has that look of "I mean business".

This one brings back many memories. Great work here Pat ~ Steve

I think I would be a bit intimidated also, what a grumpy look he has, but what a wonderful capture of it on your part. Good one! Thank you for sharing!

Yes, he does look rather intimidating! Wonder why they are called bald when they have lots of feathers on their heads? Sharpness and exposure are good. Well taken!

Thank you so much! Actually they use the term bald for white, like a horse of a different color but the face is white they call that a bald faced horse, I really appreciate your thoughtful review!

Thanks, but a very strange naming system to my Brit eyes and ears!

When it comes to eagles, it is all in their eyes. Tack sharp focus on the birds eyes which is true of all portraits. It seems that the feathers at the lower part of the neck are soft. You may have done this to emphasize the eyes. Background is pleasantly blurred. Nice positioning of the eagle in the frame. Well done.

Boy is he starring you down. Deep, piercing stare. Good thing he didn't see you as a really big mouse :) Your close up is brilliant allowing us to see all of the details in his feathers Excellent focus and lighting. We don't often get a chance to view an eagle head on so glad you shared this one with us. He looks like he is a bit annoyed with you. You being in his space.

Thank you so so much! I was taking shots of him as he was looking out on the water! When he turned and I saw this face! I felt a bit afraid, they really aren?t mean, and actually avoid people. I am honored by your six star rating ! THANK YOU!
