I have to say this is really pretty I especially like the fact that you have all these ice caves and snow everywhere and then poof there is a lovely contrast with the tree

An interesting picture of the Ice Castles under the over cast sky with some glimpses of blue between the clouds.
The bare branched trees make an interesting point of view. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus,

Wow, This is so cool. I had heard of these ice castles but had not seen the pictures. Love all the detail and you have mastered the exposure with great lighting and focus. I bet the night lighting is spectacular to see as well. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much for the six stars on this one :) It was pretty spectacular. I got to see some of the lights but not in the complete dark, which I think would have also been pretty awesome! Tomorrow is the last day so I might try to get there after dark this time.

This is so cool looking(sorry!),I thought at first it was a natural formation! Such an incredible image with excellent focus and exposure,it"s great that the clouds seem to have their own repeating pattern to compliment that in the ice formations.A very surreal image that is very pleasing to view,it looks like a very interesting and extraordinary place to visit and take photos!

These ice formations indeed look great, but I also like very much the lovely cloud formations in this photo. Makes me think of the Ice Hotel they put up every year in the north of Norway. The tree in the photo almost look out of place in this landscape of ice, but it offers a great contrast to all the white and blue.
The photo is of course also nice and sharp showing really clear and well defined details, and both the exposure and white balance is perfect.
The format and framing works really well and it is a very good balance in the composition. Indeed a beautiful and well taken photo Grace, and with an excellent DOF.

the photograph has a very atmospheric and mystical feel to it, good capture of the ice castles and all the different shapes and formations, the tree in the back ground adds interest and draws the eye to the dramatic cloud formation above, a very well taken and presented photograph. well done.

This is a beautiful place and you have captured the feel well. That is quite a sky behind. Nice clear focus. You might try the skew filter just to straighten the vertical lines a bit. Some selective dodging might also bring out the ice more. Good color and great interest.

Thank you! I appreciate your suggestions. I have not monkeyed with skewing effects before so I guess I will have to play around with that :) Normally I wish for skies like this, but I was worried they might actually clash a little with the ice in some of the shots!
