It certainly is a Golden Pond, Pat! Lovely capture of the beautiful Canadian Goose about to land on the pond to join the other one. I love the subdued colours in this. Excellent lighting and focus. Lovely composition. Suzanne

really a lovely scene. yes that pond is very gold indeed. these amazing geese make for a dynamic and vital subject matter. you show the mechanics of the one on the left, coming in for a perfect landing. the clarity and details are very nicely captured.

Great title as it certainly looks golden with the light on the water. Excellent capture of the geese especially the one in flight and the other two on the water close by. I can just imagine sitting there relaxing with a coffee ready with your camera to get a shot. Very clear and focussed and a pleasure to view!

A wonderful stop action picture of this trio of Canada Geese on your local pond with the stirring up the mirror like surface, the one on the right looking as if it wants to start an argument, the one on the left ignoring it while the one on the wing arrives to sort them out. They & the reeds & rushes surrounding the pond are all reflected on its glistening surface

It is a golden pond. I like the title. My first thought when I saw this, was : being Canadian geese, maybe they were flying home in their populated V shaped formation. One looked down and saw this pond surrounded by grass and maybe bugs to eat. One says to the 2 flying near him, "let's fall out of rank and take a swim." The guy dropping in for a landing looks like 3 kids playing in the water. This one jumping in for a cannon ball right close to his friends...as boys like to do. Well, when someone's post tells me a story, I feel it fair to share it. Story telling capabilities , I think, is an important feature. We know the technical stuff, framing, focus, lighting, contrast, color, saturation, etc. All of which is spot on. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot! These birds are all over the country. I live in Kentucky. I don't know how far it is to where this was taken but it a long way. I saw some this afternoon on a lake near my home.
