If you didn't point it out, I would have not noticed the bird. Good catch. The palm leaves and the various other foliage form a real nice, natural frame for the bird. Real nice composition.

I can tell it is very hot with the sun shining brightly on the sand, along with the way the heron is holding his mouth. I like this image because it isn't often that I see a heron and a coconut tree in the same scene! I think that is appealing, and he stands out nicely from the landscape.

Very nice composition. The colors are good too. I like your description. Also, it's nice to see a creature in its habitat and not always isolated. The focus is very clear. The bird stands out nicely with the dark background.

Nice of him to pose in such an attractive setting. If his bill stayed open he is trying to cool down like dogs do when panting. it is called a guttural pant. The bird opens its mouth and flutters its neck muscles.
Nice tropical scenery complete with one of my favorite birds.

A sunny day on vacation and looking for some shade. Nice clear shot and story. The heron is clearly visible, yet hidden in the greens. Clear focus with good details. The tree seems to overpower and overshadow(pun intended) the large bird. But that is part of the story. Well seen.
